Another division leader lost a key piece, as Will Smith of the Dodgers suffered a fractured ankle and will miss the rest of the season. Smith was hitting .258 with nine home runs.

Orioles 9, Rays 5. Renato Nunez homered twice and drove in four to lead the Orioles past the Rays. Yo****omo Tsutsugo had three hits for Tampa Bay. Keyvius Sampson went 5 1/3 innings for the win.
Indians 7, White Sox 3. Tyler Naquin had a four-hit day and Franmil Reyes homered as the Indians beat the White Sox. Zach Plesac pitched six innings to win his sixth game.
Twins 4, Yankees 3. The Twins won their MLB-best 51st game, defeating their longstanding bugaboo the Yankees for the fourth time in five games this season. Luis Arraez drove in three runs, and Taylor Rogers wriggled out of a ninth-inning jam for his 16th save.
Astros 13, Athletics 6. Kyle Tucker homered twice and reached base five times as the Astros blew out the A's. Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa and Michael Brantley all had three-hit days as well.
Angels 11, Rangers 10. Shohei Ohtani reached base five times, and his ninth-inning single gave the game to the Angels. Alex Avila drove in four runs for Los Angeles.
Mariners 9, Royals 6. Daniel Vogelbach homered twice for the second day in a row. Mitch Haniger drove in three, and Carl Edwards Jr. struck out all four batters he faced for the win.
Red Sox 7, Cubs 4. Xander Bogaerts hit a three-run homer to help the Red Sox beat the Cubs. Collin McHugh allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings to get the win.
Braves 3, Nationals 1. Home runs by Ronald Acuna Jr. and Johan Camargo helped the Braves top the Nats. Mike Soroka allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings for the win.
Pirates 5, Blue Jays 3. Luke Maile had two hits and drove in three as the last-place Pirates won their sixth in a row. Trevor Williams pitched seven innings to get the victory.
Marlins 5, Giants 1. Pablo Lopez allowed just one run over seven innings and helped the Marlins to the win. Jesus Aguilar homered for Miami as they retained a narrow lead in the NL East.
Mets 4, Phillies 0. Steven Matz threw seven shutout innings to lead the Mets to a win. Pete Alonso hit a three-run home run for New York.
Reds 5, Cardinals 4. Travis Jankowski had four hits and Curt Casali three as the Reds defeated the Cardinals by a run. Michael Lorenzen and Raisel Iglesias locked down the eighth and ninth innings for Cincinnati.
Padres 6, Rockies 1. Michael Baez pitched seven shutout innings for San Diego, striking out seven and allowing just three hits. Eric Hosmer homered and reached base four times for the Padres.
Brewers 4, Diamondbacks 3 (10 innings). Christian Yelich drove in the game-winning run with a single in the tenth. Brock Holt had three hits for the Brewers, and Josh Hader got his 15th save.
Dodgers 6, Tigers 5. Justin Turner walked with the bases loaded in the eighth to complete a three-run rally for the Dodgers that gave them the lead. Los Angeles overcame a good game by C.J. Cron, who had a home run among his three hits.
