Tough break for the NL-best Cardinals, who lost Dakota Hudson to a torn meniscus. The 25-year-old Hudson was in the middle of a second straight excellent season, with a 7-2 record and a 3.09 ERA.


Scores:

White Sox 3, Tigers 1. Luis Robert was the hero, tying the score with a home run in the ninth inning, and putting the White Sox ahead with a single two innings later. Lucas Giolito and Matt Manning were both excellent, holding their opponents scoreless and allowing just three hits between them over 7 1/3 and 7 innings respectively.

Blue Jays 4, Rays 0. Randal Grichuk homered twice to reach 19 on the season. Cavan Biggio had three hits, and Chase Anderson threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings.

Indians 5, Orioles 3. Franmil Reyes homered and Carlos Santana had three hits in the win. Carlos Carrasco struck out eleven in 7 2/3 innings to pick up the win.

Twins 6, Yankees 2. Josh Donaldson homered twice as the Twins beat the Yankees. Randy Dobnak allowed one run in seven innings for Minnesota.

Angels 5, Rangers 2. Mike Trout had three hits, including his 21st home run of the year. Justin Upton had three hits as well. Andrew Heaney struck out nine in 7 2/3 innings for the win.

Mariners 10, Royals 5. Daniel Vogelbach popped two homers as the Mariners doubled up the Royals. Seven Mariners had multi-hit games in total.

Rockies 11, Cardinals 3. Trevor Story had three hits, including a home run, as the Rockies easily beat the Cardinals. Story, Charlie Blackmon and Brendan Rodgers drove in three apiece.

Cubs 5, Mets 4. Jharel Cotton pitched seven effective innings to get the win. David Bote homered and Victor Caratini drove in two for Chicago.

Padres 6, Reds 5. The Reds took the lead a two-run homer by Eugenio Suarez, but Greg Garcia tied the score with a double in the bottom of the inning, and Manny Machado ended the game with an RBI single. Machado had three hits on the day.

Nationals 7, Giants 2. Adam Eaton and Juan Soto each had a homer among three hits apiece as the Nats beat the Giants. Max Scherzer struck out eleven in seven innings to get the win.

Phillies 5, Marlins 0. Bryce Harper homered twice and had three hits total as the Phils beat the Marlins. Aaron Nola pitched eight shutout innings for Philadelphia.

Dodgers 12, Diamondbacks 2. Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger reached base four times apiece as the Dodgers blew out the Diamondbacks. Austin Barnes drove in four, and Bellinger three. Jimmy Nelson pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings for Los Angeles.
