I wasn't aware of Felipe Vasquez being deleted. I Googled it and found a few threads where the OOTP team said they were "looking into it", but didn't see an official announcement.
However, I do not have a Felipe Vasquez card. So that would not explain the discrepancy. ABButters is correct, I do in fact have a Live Ichiro, but he is not on the Seattle Mariners missions. Therefore, if you have all Live Cards including Ichiro, you will be over the total.
I'm guessing Felipe Vasquez was replaced with another Pirate, which essentially kept the total Live Cards figure the same. But they simply removed Ichiro from packs and collection missions, without actually removing the card itself, because I have it, so clearly it's there.
