Puig Slams Milestone Homer:
The crowd roared -- they knew they were seeing history -- and Yasiel Puig was delighted, too. The 30-year-old Cornhuskers right fielder was making history with his 400th career homer. The crowd buzzed and roared again when Puig stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.
"Never, as a kid, did I ever think I'd hit even one," he told BNN after hitting No. 400 in a 10-5 victory over Indiana. Puig went 1-for-4 in the game, had 3 RBI, and scored 1 run.
As far as career numbers Puig has compiled a .290 batting average and collected 1585 hits, 400 home runs and 973 RBIs.
