12 May 2296 - E.S.A.U. Initiative Produces Interleague Trade
With the launch of the ESAU Initiative, CBO executives got on their consoles and pipboys and began talks.
With that mentioned, though there was not a rash of trades, which would have been exciting, there was one. In this case, the Brotherhood League and Institute League will each welcome a new player.
Finch Farm owner Abraham Finch confirmed that the Four Leafs have traded 25-year-old 1B Joe Provisioner to the Sunshine Tidings Chemists. In return, the Four Leafs will receive 27-year-old RHP Ernie Peacemaker.
Peacemaker, the 15th-round selection of Sunshine Tidings, as a reliever had only appeared in two games with the Chemists. In those two games, he pitched two innings, allowing one earned run on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
While Provisioner, the Four Leafs' 19th-round pick, has yet to play this season, it is expected that he will slide onto the active roster for Sunshine Tidings and replace Jalen Wharton as the starting first baseman. In 18 games, Wharton is 23 of 89 (.284) with six doubles and a home run. He has scored 17 runs, driven in five, walked seven times, and struck out 17 times. While it has yet to be determines if Provisioner can hit better than Wharton, he is expected to improve the defense.
