After talking with our backend service provider we found a potential reason.
It seems a root certificate expired on May 30th, which can result in connections to our backend service being blocked by your computer.

We are investigating further to see if that's the case and how to fix this issue.
Update: Our backend service provider will implement an update on their severs tomorrow hopefully fixing the connection issues.
