With a month left in the season, it looks like it will be a 3 way battle for the #1 pick in December's draft, between Toronto (49-81), Seattle (48-81) and the Mets (49-81)

It also looks like there is only one race worth mentioning. After their hot August, Montreal holds a 2 game lead over the defending champion Pittsburgh Pirates.

George Brett's is still hitting .402 but is looking less like a triple crown winner too. And it doesn't look like JR Richard will challenge Bob Gibson this year as his ERA climbed to 1.67.
