Then with tired starters and exhausted relievers (none of whom were especially good when rested) they gave up 20+ in each game of the next series, including 34 in the opener. Of course a real team in that situation would've called up half of the AAA staff.

I had a blowout win over the Brewers in which the AI used Josh Hader for 66 pitches as the last guy out of the bullpen. I'm not sure if the game has any parameters under which the AI will use a position player on the mound, but surely that should qualify.
