Baseball is a game of percentages and playing those percentages, but it seems that this doesnt matter in this version of OOTP.

The 2018 ALCS was largely decided by passed balls and pitchers making throwing errors to first. This stuff happens.
(Also, notably, you're not telling us what your catcher's defensive ratings are, only your pitchers...)
