I'm not sure if baseball is broadcasted in France, but I remember when I watched baseball on German television years ago, I couldn't stand it because the commentators explained baseball EVERY SINGLE GAME. Maybe they do something similar in France which would help you even more.

One of the cool things is you can watch the progression of baseball from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and up to today's game. The basic game is the same, and yet so much has changed.
