With the 1906 Cubs the players you are not seeing on the team were acquired by trade during the season. When you create a league like this OOTP defaults to opening day rosters. I created a set of mods called By The Decade for OOTP 30 and had to go through the transactions of each team and import players that were not on the team at the beginning of the season.
Skrabec, the normalized DB does not account for difference between eras or seasons. It was only designed to provide park neutral statistics for players for that same season.
There really is no way to legitimately have these teams play each other without using Davenport Translations, which are what I used for the Baseball Greats rosters. For the By The Decade series I created I used teams during the same decade since the league rates for many statistics remained reasonably similar.
