Yes he was. So was Flaherty for the Cardinals. The players AGREED to this, to limit the monies paid to players with less than a certain number of years.

This is to free up more money for the veterans, and Snell, and everyone else agreed to this.

So...teams should be able, and have, to early-sign their stars for a multi-year contract. Baking in a few more expensive years, to get more years out of them.

Contrary to what is believed, ages 31-34 are not the prime years of a players performance. Age 27 is statistically the best. With most players getting to the majors in their early to mid '20's, five years before the slow decline phase is about right..unless you are a truly special player.

Snell had a **** year last year. Get rid of his Cy Young year, and he has a lifetime losing record.
