Pete Browning Gets MVP Trophy:
He may have less experience than most of his NCAA peers, but that didn't slow Pete Browning down at all in 2030.
At the age of 24, the Hawai'i center fielder has been named the winner of the American League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .407 batting average and a .470 on-base percentage this year. In 162 games he piled up 259 hits, 60 doubles, 5 triples, 53 home runs, 177 RBIs and 135 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 126 first place votes out of a possible 174. George Sisler of the West Virginia Mountaineers finished second in voting with 29 first place votes, while Hugh Duffy of the Cal State Northridge Matadors finished third with 3 first place votes.
