NL Top Newcomer Named:
The National League has made it official -- Ginger Beaumont is the winner of the Rookie of the Year Award.
In 2030 the Washington State center fielder was solid performer with a .329 batting average, 45 home runs and 133 RBIs. Beaumont also had 52 walks and posted a .396 on-base percentage.
He received 161 first place votes out of a possible 174. Noodles Hahn of the Texas State Bobcats finished second in voting with 13 first place votes, while Matt Adams of the Temple Owls finished third.
