Arizona State Sweeps into the Semifinals:
With a 4-3 win to wrap up the series at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, the Arizona State Sun Devils have eliminated the Arizona Wildcats in the Super Regionals and move on to the Semifinals.
Arizona State controlled the series from the outset and won it in a 2-0 sweep.
Roberto Alomar led the charge offensively for the victors, winning series MVP honors. He posted a .800 batting average, along with a .800 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 0 runs.
"We're not done yet," the MVP said. "There is still a lot to accomplish."
The Arizona State Sun Devils don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Purdue Boilermakers - Jacksonville Dolphins series. Jacksonville leads the series 1 games to 0. The Semifinals schedule will be announced after the Super Regionals finishes.
