Connor Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games:
The Southern Illinois Salukis stopped the Kansas State Wildcats today 9-3 and Roger Connor collected a base hit yet again. The Southern Illinois first baseman finished with 2 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25.
"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Connor told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games."
Roger Connor struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Kyle Freeland in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
For the season Connor is currently batting .409 with 7 home runs and 25 RBIs. In 35 games he has reached base at a .481 rate and scored 28 runs to date.
