In the bottom of the seventh, the Giants loaded the bases with nobody out. Devlin cut the Pirates lead in half with a two-run single. One out later, pinch hitter Larry Doyle tied the game with a two-run single.
In the bottom of the eighth, Meyers put the Giants in the lead with a two-run single. With a runner on first and one out, Chick Brandon took the mound for the Pirates.
In the top of the ninth, with runners at first and second and two out, Wagner flew to right to end the game.
The Giants got 10 hits in the win.
