In the top of the seventh, the Pirates loaded the bases with one out. Abstein brought two in with a single to break the scoreless tie.
In the top of the ninth, Wagner hit the 162nd triple of his career to move up to 14th on the all-time list. The Pirates went on to load the bases with two out. Storke then brought all three home with a double. With a runner on second and two out, Doc Martin took the mound for the Superbas and got the final out.
Frock went on to record the complete game shutout.
