Unless you are really into crunching numbers (simming seasons) and seeing the end result chances are you will get bored. Or coaching the games out.
Once you master the mechanics the human is basically unstoppable and can either win a dozen World Series in a row or at least make it to the WS or series championship. Have the best roster and the best minor league system. Increasing difficulty doesn't really do much.
There is not enough dynamic GM game mechanics that change the game world to make it unique over multiple playthroughs of the same style game universe. One really has to like number crunching and seeing the results or they really like coaching the day to day games. Example if you are always doing modern mlb opening day then most of the time it will be extremely similar even if you crank up TCR. The changes are not so vast that it feels completely different.
Typically what will slow the human player down the most is doing an expansion team in a tiny market. It can slow the player down maybe 5 years just because you have no farm system and no good players to do trades and you make no money. So you can't really improve scouting/development or sign good free agents. So you have that slow grind in the beginning. And this may not increase difficulty it just makes it a slower grind to superiority.
