Saturday, June 4 - We bounced back from Friday's loss with a 6-2 win over the Blue Sox behind Nate Wheeler's 7 inning, 2 run performance for his 7th win. Hicks again got the save, his 8th. Lee Thomas was back in the lineup with his 14th HR, Jordan Sandoval hit his 3rd, and Nehemiah Inabinett hit his first.

Sunday, June 5th - An off day for the players but not for me as we were busy with the first year player draft. I'm happy with all our picks and I think every one of them has a realistic chance to make the bigs within a few years. Our top pick was 2B Chris Lopatka, who sports a .311 batting average and 21 HR for his 154 game high school career. Second choice was Adrian Shaw, a right handed pitcher. He missed several games his senior season but we believe he is sound. All of our picks have been assigned to our Dayton farm club.

Monday - Boog Powell homers and Poratta gets win #6 as we beat the Beefeaters 3-2.

Tuesday - Almanza gets his 9th win, shutting us out on 4 hits. Osteen gives up three in the first, then settles down but it was too late. Almanza is a real thorn in our side.

Wednesday - Wheeler pitches 7 2/3 inning of 3-hit shutout baseball for his 8th win. Hicks gets save #10. Willis gets his 6th HR.

Thursday - The Buffalo Bisons come to town, Jackson throws a 4-hit shutout as we turn 'em back 5-0. Willis goes deep the second game in a row for his 7th HR and Powell also collects his 7th. Seven was the number of the day as Jackson raised his record to 7-4.
