			NL Presents Rookie of the Year Award: 
 Dean Palmer turned a lot of heads in National League circles this season, putting together a solid rookie campaign. Today he claimed the NL Rookie of the Year Award.
 
 The 22-year-old Duke third baseman played in 158 games, hitting .291 with 67 home runs, 145 RBIs and scoring 136 runs.
 
 He received 163 first place votes out of a possible 164. Justin Bour of the St. John's Red Storm finished second in voting, while John Titus of the Maryland Terrapins finished third.
