Louisville Takes Regionals in Deciding Game:
When the entire season comes down to one game, Deion Sanders said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Louisville Cardinals are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the North Carolina Tar Heels 7-3 tonight at Jim Patterson Stadium in order to win the Regionals and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Sanders, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Sanders hit .364 with a .364 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Louisville Cardinals will play against the UCLA Bruins in the next round. UCLA won their series against the Xavier Musketeers 2 games to 1. The Super Regionals schedule will be announced after the Regionals finishes.
