Pirates Cruise to Regionals with Sweep:
The East Carolina Pirates looked strong and dominant in a series sweep against the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The Wildcard victory gives the club a great deal of momentum heading into the Regionals.
East Carolina won the final game by a 3-0 count and the series 2-0.
Frank Hankinson captured MVP honors on the strength of his 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched. He had a 1-0 record.
"As long as we win, that's all that matters" he said of the honor.
The East Carolina Pirates don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the UConn Huskies - Little Rock Trojans series. Little Rock leads the series 1 games to 0. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
