In the bottom of the fourth, Mele hit a two-out triple to give the Orioles their first baserunner of the game. Wertz then brought Mele home with a single.
In the top of the fifth, the Indians loaded the bases with nobody out. Philley brought one home with a single. Hegan followed with his own run-scoring single. Strickland drew a four-pitch walk to force in another run. Glynn was the next to hit an RBI single. Wynn flew to right and finally there was one out in the inning. Avila then beat out the 4-6-3 to pick up an RBI. A walk reloaded the bases with two out before Rosen popped up to third to bring the five-run inning to an end.
In the top of the sixth, Dave Koslo took the mound for the Orioles.
After six: Cleveland 8 Baltimore 1.
In the top of the eighth, the Indians again loaded the bases with nobody out. Philley brought a run in with a sacrifice fly.
In the top of the ninth, with a runner on second and one out, Howie Fox took the mound for the Orioles. Rosen brought one run home on a two-out double but Avila was thrown out at home trying to score from first.
The Indians out-hit the Orioles 12-4.
Final score: Cleveland 10 Baltimore 1.
