This could be something that devolves into splitting hairs. But I have to agree. There are tremendous moments that aren't great plays. That's not downplaying a Gibson or Carter home run, these are literally life altering events for fans.
I cry every time I watch the end of game six Mets/Boston. Hell, I'm tearing up a little right now just typing about it!
A great play to me is something where it's easy to see the skill and awareness of a player who's put into an impossible, split-second situation and then astoundingly they just do everything 100% correct.
