Different cultures and/or nations, et cetera, may have different ideas of what would be traditional for them, I think. Whether in naming conventions or color usage, et cetera, they might still have different ideas of what would be traditional for them, just the same.
I can see where you are coming from, believe it or not, but there is also merit in some of what I've said regarding certain teams and leagues and countries, as well, I'm sure. With fictional places and leagues and teams and players, what may be considered traditional for real-world places, et cetera, may not be considered so for them.
I do agree, though, that in more traditional settings and situations, et cetera, certain looks may be more appropriate than others, in any case. But that doesn't mean that one can't necessarily experiment a little bit at times with certain teams, leagues, and all, does it? There are at least a few teams that could probably stand to have some changes made to their current or recent looks, I think, in all four of the major sports leagues. Or at least potential alternate versions of their branding looks. Maybe even mashups inspired by other teams where they are or near where they are, in fact.
That was one of the ideas I had in mind when I posted my mashup idea thread in the Graphics Forum, and I was wondering what others might have in mind if they were to mashup certain teams' looks with each other, et cetera. But so far, nobody's really explored that sort of thing here, I think. I had other ideas for things people could chime in on, even if they didn't actually make items that they'd post in the related thread or threads, come to think of it.
Thank you for your input and all here. Not sure yet on what I want to potentially call that prospective team from San Diego yet, but I think someone suggested a while back the name San Diego Sombreros for a team. No luck yet on finding any related graphics for such a team, however, it seems. Think I have one more scene to write for chapter eight, and it may take a while to write up, perhaps.
Chapter nine will probably take me at least a few weeks to write, and then chapter ten might too. I hope I can get at least chapter ten written out in first-draft status by the 4th of July, but we'll have to see about that.
I don't know if baseball will be mentioned at all, or at least periodically, in this story I'm working on, but we'll have to see, supposing it's not already mentioned in it by now. If it is, or will be, I'm not sure which dynasty may be the primary one with teams and leagues from it mentioned in the story.
Will keep you posted on things as time permits and all, Lord willing. Whether with my leagues, my story, or anything else, I will, I expect, every so often. Please take care and try to stay as safe and as healthy as you possibly can. Shalom, Eugene. CD out.
