Berkman Smashes 300th Homer:
Xavier's outstanding center fielder Lance Berkman joined the 300 home run club today at J. I. Clements Stadium with a booming blast in the Musketeers win over the Eagles. They topped Georgia Southern 8-2.
On his milestone day Berkman had 4 hits in 4 at-bats with 4 runs batted in and 1 run scored.
Tongue-in-cheek he told the press, "Don't tell me when I get close to the next milestone. Just tell me after I reach it. It will be easier to hit that way."
Berkman is hitting .259 lifetime with 1124 hits, 212 doubles, 4 triples, 300 home runs and 856 RBIs to date. He has scored 721 runs, walked 619 times and has a .357 OBP.
