Try using 5-yr recalc with import settings for Batters 150/70 and for Pitchers 17/14 when creating the game. I suggest you disable storylines to prevent early retirements.

Thanks for the suggestion i will def try it. Sorry i just saw these responses. It does kinda make sense if you start in 1870 and leave player development on that it would not adjust for the dead ball era.
