Today is the rubber game in the series in Chicago between the Mariners and the White Sox. Today concludes the Mariners road trip and will be their last game in the month of April.

In the top of the fourth, Cameron drew a lead off walk for the Mariners first baserunner of the game. Suzuki followed with a single for the Mariners first hit of the game. Martinez then put the Mariners on the board with an RBI double. Boone was next and he scored Suzuki with a sacrifice fly. Martinez scored from third when Bell grounded to second.

In the bottom of the fourth, Ordonez put the White Sox on the board with a 390 foot two-out solo home run.

In the top of the fifth, rain began to fall.

In the bottom of the fifth, the rain stopped. Lee hit a 410 foot solo shot to make it a one-run game.

In the bottom of the sixth, Durham tied the game with a 364 foot solo home run. Konerko gave the White Sox the lead with a two-out two-run 379 foot blast.

After six: Chicago 5 Seattle 3.

In the bottom of the seventh, Norm Charlton took the mound for the Mariners.

In the top of the eighth, the rain began to fall again. Martinez tied the game with a 376 foot two-run bomb. With the bases empty and two out, play was stopped for a 46 minute rain delay.

In the top of the ninth, Bob Howry took the mound for the White Sox.

In the bottom of the ninth, with bases empty and one out, Joel Pineiro took the mound for the Mariners and sent the game into extra innings.

After nine: Seattle 5 Chicago 5.

In the top of the tenth, Cameron led off with a 380 foot homer to put the Mariners back in front. With bases empty and one out, Lorenzo Barcelo took the mound for the White Sox.

In the bottom of the tenth, Kazuhiro Sasaki took the mound for the Mariners. The White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Sasaki struck out Canseco and two were gone. Sasaki then got Ordonez swinging for a game-ending strikeout.

The Mariners got 10 hits in the win. Four Mariners pitchers combined to throw 10 strikeouts.

Final score: Seattle 6 Chicago 5 10 innings.
