I don't even use the streaky guys as pinch hitters late in crucial games when they are having a scheduled day off. Because I'm not too sure how 0-1 pinch-hitting duties count towards a streak.

Oh geeze....I have seen streaks end by a player taking an off day, only to be used in a pinch hitting role late in the game. It's one of those things that would never happen, because the streak becomes more important than the outcome of the game.
What bugged me so much about this one is that the guy on the streak is a legit .330+ lifetime hitter. High contact/low discipline, so he would have been up there swinging away before he was pinch hit for. It was painful. He'll likely never get another shot.
