Bulldogs Prevail, as Wildcard Goes to the Wire:
When the entire season comes down to one game, Tom Tresh said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Baylor Bears 9-3 tonight at Patterson Baseball Complex in order to win the Wildcard and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Tresh, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Tresh hit .417 with a .417 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs will play against the UTEP Miners in the next round. UTEP won their series against the Sacramento State Hornets 2 games to 0. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
