Mean Green Dominate, Sweep Wildcard:
It's a sweet sweep for the North Texas Mean Green and they have won the Wildcard. The Missouri State Bears were not able to keep pace with the Mean Green and dropped the series in short order, losing 6-5 in the deciding game.
"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Missouri State manager Ernesto Ramirez.
It's now on to the Regionals for North Texas after their 2-0 series win.
Leading the way for the winners was right fielder Enrique Martinez, who was named MVP. For the series, Martinez hit .500 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 0 runs.
The North Texas Mean Green don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Kansas State Wildcats - Cal State Fullerton Titans series. Cal State Fullerton leads the series 1 games to 0. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
