Bulls on to Regionals:
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the National League Wildcard. It turned out quite a bit different.
The South Florida Bulls swept aside the Seton Hall Pirates to advance to the Regionals, winning the final game by a 5-4 score at USF Baseball Stadium.
The series MVP was center fielder Bobby Tolan, who hit .500 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The South Florida Bulls will play against the Villanova Wildcats in the next round. Villanova won their series against the Cincinnati Bearcats 2 games to 0. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
