I think your career totals will be similar to using 3 year or 5 year recalc.. The main difference will be in more single season extremes, such as more .400 seasons, 50 HR seasons etc.. At least that was my experience and why I changed from 1 year to 3 year recalc.
It would be interesting to see if your experience is the same as mine.
