Tonight is the second game in the series in Philadelphia between the Indians and the Athletics. Last night's win made the Indians 5-0 in the month of May.

The New York Giants signed free agent SP Vinegar Bend Mizell to a 1-year contract worth a total of $23,400.

In the top of the first, Rosen put the Indians on the board with an RBI double.

In the bottom of the first, Finigan tied the game with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the second, Bollweg put the Athletics in the lead with a 434 foot solo home run.

In the top of the third, Philley tied the game with an RBI single.

After three: Cleveland 2 Philadelphia 2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Bollweg put the Athletics back in the lead with a sacrifice fly.

In the top of the sixth, Ginsberg tied the game with an RBI single.

After six: Cleveland 3 Philadelphia 3.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jacobs put the Athletics back in the lead with a two-out RBI single. The Athletics went on to load the bases with two out. But Zernial popped up to second to end the inning.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Athletics loaded the bases with one out. Pinch hitter Bill Renna grounded into the inning-ending 5-2-3.

In the top of the ninth, Moe Burtschy took the mound for the Athletics. With the tying run on first and two out, Burtschy struck out Rosen to end the game.

The Athletics got 12 hits in the win.

Final score: Philadelphia 4 Cleveland 3.
