  • Ratings change from 1-100 to 20-80
  • The league made a decision to lower the height of the mound in order to hopefully provide more offense.
  • The Pittsburgh Bulldogs took 6 games to overcome the Arizona Rattlers and become the 1st IBL team to win more than one world series.
  • Rattler star Teune van Dijk, despite being on the losing end, became the 1st World Series MVP to come from the losing club hitting 4 HR in the 6 game series.
  • Indianapolis Racer right fielder Elvis Enriquez set a new IBL single-season HR record hitting 69.
  • Arizona's James McDermott hit 62 to finish 2nd in the Continental.
  • Sam Kas (PIT) and John Collins of Dallas were the only two pitchers to surpass 300K's.
  • Portland's Johnathan Goss (.316) and Houston's Nate Harden (.322) were the batting champions.
  • Denver Grizzly pitcher Jesus Tobias became the 1st pitcher in IBL history to record 20 strikeouts in a single 9 inning game. In a May 15th 7-2 win he punched out 20 Washington Eagles.
  • On July 7th Indianapolis Racer Robbie Peterson faced just 27 batters in tossing the IBL's 1st perfect game and accumulating the 1st 100+ game score for an IBL pitcher (102). He punched out 15 and needed just 111 pitches.
  • Pittsburgh Bulldog Ricky Garcia became the 1st IBL hitter to have a hitting streak of 30+ games as he hit in 35 straight from June 13th to July 29th. He was 58-160 (.362) 14 2B 2 3B 4 HR 22 RBI's 8 BB 11 K during the streak.
  • 21-year-old Oscar Reyes saw his string of 300 strikeout seasons end as he was off and on the DL for 7-8 total starts. He went 9-4 2.17 with 299 K's in just 174 IP. The 2nd season in a row he failed to hit 200 innings. He still led the league in WHIP for a 4th straight year (0.80) and in those 28 starts had the 2nd highest WAR among IBL pitchers with enough innings to qualify at 9.3. Many scouts have been talking about health concerns for “No Trump” Reyes (that's his nickname.)

  • Jonathan Gross of Portland (.316) and Nate Harden of Houston (.322) were the batting title winners.
  • The Bulldogs were not hurting for hardware either.
  • They boasted the MVP in 27-year-old LF Jason Fisher (.285/.399/.616 w/ 49 HR) and the Koufax winner in 33-year-old Sam Kas who went 21-6 with a 2.30 ERA.
  • Long Beach got its first Rookie of the Year as 1B Nate Miller slammed 35 home runs to win the Jackie Robinson.
  • Denver managed to sign 2 time Continental league Rivera winner Jeremy Summerlin and he rewarded them with their 1st and his 3rd Mariano Rivera Award going 6-5 with 39 Saves and a 1.14 ERA as well as becoming the 1st FL reliever to accumulate a WAR of 6
  • Over in the Continental the 69 HR season of rookie Elvis Enriquez made him the Jackie Robinson winner (.259/.343/.634) but in the closest MVP vote ever Arizona slugger Branden Simmons took home his second Ruth award going .317/.378/.699 with 54 HR's
  • Houston's Gerardo Garcia took home the CL's Koufax going 14-7 2.18
  • Memphis closer Miguel Ortiz won his 1st Rivera going 3-5 with 43 Saves and a 1.71 ERA which he then parlayed into a 3 year deal with LA that winter.
