  • The Charlotte Cyclones beat the Pittsburgh Bulldogs 4-0 in the Wild Card round, Sacramento 4-2 in the Division Series, and swept the Los Angeles Seraphs 4-0 to win the IBL World series. Game 4 was over when Charlotte 2B Dan Rome lined a 1 out world series-winning homer to LF. Catcher Eric Lebron taking home WS MVP honors (.333/.385/.917 2 HR)
  • The top 2 seeds, Pittsburgh (105-57) and Houston (107-55) didn't make it past their 1st round WC opponents.
  • I should add that the playoff structure is best of 7, 7, 7 and only 4 teams make the playoffs in each league with the WC winner facing the 1 seed.
  • Right fielders Sam Harris (DEN) and Jason Bloyer became the 1st players to ever have 6 hits in an IBL game. Both games were extra-inning affairs.
  • Brian Cook (CHA) and San Diego Panther hurler Humberto Ybarra became just the 2nd and 3rd pitchers to record multiple no-hitters as Cook no-hit Toldeo on August 24th and Ybarra no-hit Austin on the 6th of September.
  • Austin has been no-hit 4 times, more than any club in the IBL.
  • The batting champions hit .313 (Jaime Greif (PIT)) and .317 (David Gomez (LA)) respectively.
  • Rattler 1B Teune Van Dijk (Tune-van-Deek) hit 51 homers making it his 4th season of 50+ HR's.
  • 5 hurlers surpassed the 300K mark. Wibren Meurs led them all at 340, Shane Wright (MEM) 322, John Collins (DAL) 314, Oscar Reyes (CHI) 311 and his rotation mate Jean-Michel Deusdar with 302.
  • Lancaster SS Danny Gonzalez took home a 5th straight Silver Slugger in the Continental.
  • Tyler Romano (SAC) took home the FL MVP hitting .259/.350/.597 with 59 HR's and 8.3 WAR
  • Wibren Meurs stepped to the podium for the 4th time in 5 years going 18-10 1.75. In the leagues 5 years, he and Oscar Reyes have finished 1-2 every season in the Frontier League.
  • Sacramento had its second straight rookie of the year as CF George Waller took home this year's honor.
  • Bulldog Eddie Sadewasser had a 'down' year seeing his ERA rocket from 0.23 to 1.13! That didn't stop him from taking home his second consecutive Mariano Rivera award. He was 5-2 with 44 Saves.
  • LA slugger Mike Laudenslager won the Continental MVP hitting .266/.360/.597 with 56 HR's.
  • 23-year-old Houston Apollo pitcher Oscar Aburto won his 1st Koufax with a 20-10 2.52 season.
  • Arizona saw it's third Jackie Robinson winner in 5 years as SS Aaron Gravdahl hit 34 HR's to take it.
  • Arizona got more hardware when Reliever Aurelien Vautier took home his 2nd Mariano Rivera award going 7-5 36 SV 1.41 ERA
