Montana State's Donovan Gets Cy Young Award:
Bill Donovan of the Bobcats humbled hitters all season long and today celebrated as he hauled in the American League Pitcher of the Year trophy, the coveted Cy Young Award.
The Montana State hurler held opposing hitters to a .178 batting average while putting up a 21-3 record and a 2.15 earned run average. He started 34 games, pitched 247 innings and struck out 410.
He received 134 first place votes out of a possible 146. Eddie Plank of the Montana State Bobcats finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Ed Morris of the North Dakota Fighting Hawks finished third.
