Bobcats Prevail, as Super Regionals Goes to the Wire:
The joy and relief on the faces of the Montana State Bobcats players was obvious as they celebrated their Super Regionals win over the Kansas State Wildcats.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Montana State catcher Russell Martin, shortly after the 7-0 win that clinched the series 2-1. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Semi Finals.
Martin won series MVP honors on the strength of his .500 batting average during the series. He also had a .538 on-base percentage and 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Montana State Bobcats don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Long Beach State Dirtbags - North Texas Mean Green series. That series is tied at 1 game apiece. The Semi Finals schedule will be announced after the Super Regionals finishes.
