Hokies Dominate, Sweep Super Regionals: It was a sweet sweep for the Virginia Tech Hokies as they eased past the Georgia State Panthers to advance to the Semi Finals.
Virginia Tech won the final game by a 8-6 count and the series 2-0.
"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Vince DiMaggio, who was named series MVP.
For the series, DiMaggio hit .556 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Virginia Tech Hokies will play against the Louisville Cardinals in the next round. Louisville won their series against the Penn State Nittany Lions 2 games to 0. The Semi Finals schedule will be announced after the Super Regionals finishes.
