Georgia State Takes Regionals in Deciding Game:
The sweet swing of Jason Sawyer has led his team through the Regionals.
The Georgia State Panthers star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Xavier Musketeers to advance to the Super Regionals.
The Panthers won the final game at J. Page Hayden Field by a score of 2-1 and the series 2-1.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Sawyer. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Sawyer hit .385 with a .385 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Georgia State Panthers will play against the Virginia Tech Hokies in the next round. Virginia Tech won their series against the Arizona Wildcats 2 games to 1. The Super Regionals schedule will be announced after the Regionals finishes.
