When I saw this cartoon, it reminded me of dunderhead Kapler. Nola has a three hit, 90 pitch shutout going after seven innings, and Kapler pulls him, and lo and behold the Phillies bullpen blows the game. One of many knucklehead moves by a guy who should, at best, be managing middle school games.

I didn't necessarily object to some of the moves that Kapler made- I think the general tendency towards removing starters earlier rather than later makes a lot of sense as we've learned more about the times through the order penalty. But he did not do a good job explaining the rationale to the media, and even more so, he did not do a good job getting his players to buy in. I was definitely surprised the Giants hired him given how things went in Philadelphia...
