Coney Island made three moves in the off season. Adding Don Baylor, Bobby Murcer and Joe Nathan.
Nathan will take over the closer role from Jim Bibby who had a horrible September blowing 4 saves and coming into a tie game in the bottom of the ninth giving up a walk off HR on his first pitch.
Baylor adds some flexibility in LF, backup at First and some time at DH. Overall boosting the depth of the club.
I wanted a lefty bat in the OF to replace Mickey Rivers and Bobby Murcer was the first ballplayer I really loved as a kid so it was more a sentimental pick. He wasn't expensive as I used some of the proceeds from Rivers as well as Jody Davis to finance the move- and he can't be worse than his diamond card was PT20......
I was initially only going to do one team this year but with this quarantine I have just thrown a team (yet to be named) in the entry pool. Once I get it settled I will add them next Monday and provide you the details.
Good luck to all this week.
