My GM is living up to his reputation.

I’m currently playing as the Manager for my Casper Troopers ballclub. My General Manager’s name is Paul Guadagno, whose reputation is listed as “Poor.” I am inclined to agree with that reputation a couple of weeks into the league’s debut season. My evidence is listed here.

(The league has a lot of movement. Maximum contract length is 3 years. There is no draft. Everyone is eligible for Free Agency basically all the time. There are 32 teams vying for the services of players and there are several players still available in free agency who are currently mulling offers from my GM and others around the league.)

1. I don’t have a SS on the roster who has a defensive rating higher than 35 at the position. The only guy who had a listed position of SS on opening day is rated 34 or lower on everything.
2. My opening day roster had only RH batters on it. I have since been given a switch hitter to work with, but still just one guy who doesn’t only bat from the right side.
3. My bullpen is atrocious. I have 1 left handed reliever, and my GM keeps trying to put him on my reserve roster. He’s pitched in 4 of my 6 games, going 4 innings, while giving up no runs on 3 hits, with 4 strikeouts and a save. The GM put him on the reserve roster for one game and then brought him back for the next two. Now he’s back on the reserve roster again while on of my right-handed relieves is firmly on the active roster who has pitched in 3 games, going 2 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts.

So far, I’ve been able to go 5-1, with 3 of my wins being 1 run games.

If I can keep winning, I’m going to have to convince my owner to either get me a new GM or give me the position. This guy’s going to drive me crazy.
