League Gives Abbott Suspension: Northwestern's Kurt Abbott has been given a 2-game suspension for his outburst following an ejection in a recent game with the Arizona State Sun Devils at Rocky Miller Park. He was called out on a third strike by the plate umpire and halted the game to argue about it. The disgusted Abbott slowly walked back to the dugout with bat in hand, but suddenly turned around and headed toward the umpire. He was stopped by the on-deck hitter and third base coach as his manager continued to argue the call. A moment later, Abbott was ejected.
Looking at his stats this year, Abbott has compiled a .267 batting average, while hitting 17 home runs and driving in 40 runs. He has played in 55 games and scored 35 runs.
