Tigers End Vaughan's Streak:
Arky Vaughan, shortstop for the Temple Owls, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Clemson Tigers today. Not only did the Tigers break his 29-game hitting streak, they also beat Temple by the score of 2-0.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Vaughan said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
So far this year Vaughan is hitting .456 with 4 home runs.
