I've had streaks of 4 days where I don't even place top 4 in a tournament (and I play quite a few) and then win a couple in a row.
Yesterday I was probably 0-10 in tournaments losing in the first round or two more often than not. Same team won me 5 packs at the end of the night in 2 consecutive tournaments.

It is indeed. My iron team went two days with a couple of 200 PP prizes. Then won 10 packs in a day. Then won 4 (in a single tournament) over the next two days. Hey, the teams are just so close in talent, RNG holds sway. I'd say, if you're team is hanging and you like them, just run with it.
