Bulldogs Prevail, as Wildcard Goes to the Wire:
The Wildcard went the distance before it all was said and done.
The Georgia Bulldogs and the Kentucky Wildcats went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at Kentucky Proud Park, the winner was the Bulldogs.
They put away Kentucky 3-2 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the Regionals.
For his fine play, even in a losing effort, Kentucky third baseman Yairo Munoz was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .545, scored 4 runs and batted in 3 to win the honor.
"It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said.
The Georgia Bulldogs will play against the Florida Gators in the next round. Florida won their series against the Sacramento State Hornets 2 games to 0. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
