Beavers Prevail, as Wildcard Goes to the Wire:
The Oregon State Beavers are off to the Regionals after an exciting Wildcard triumph.
Oregon State downed the North Carolina Tar Heels, but needed the entire series to do so, with a 9-2 win tonight at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field wrapping up the series 2-1.
"It's every guy in this room that made this happen. Without us all pulling in the same direction, we don't win this series," said Jonathan Schoop, who earned MVP honors for a standout offensive series.
Schoop put up a .417 with a .462 on-base percentage in the series. He also had 3 home runs, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 runs himself.
The Oregon State Beavers will play against the Boston College Eagles in the next round. Boston College won their series against the Utah Utes 2 games to 1. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
