Hokies Prevail, as Wildcard Goes to the Wire:
After their 9-5 win today over the UCF Knights, the Virginia Tech Hokies will advance to the Regionals.
Despite coming out on the losing side, the series MVP award went to UCF center fielder Mike J Griffin. Griffin told a reporter from the UCF News that he was disappointed in the loss, and hopes to be back next year competing for the College World Series
Virginia Tech won the series 2-1. The Virginia Tech Hokies will play against the Indiana Hoosiers in the next round. Indiana won their series against the USC Trojans 2 games to 1. The Regionals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes.
